Well, really, I have to say I am going to blame my older sister for just about anything to do with most of my reading habits (she's the one who handed me Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings when I wouldn't stop bothering her on a Sunday afternoon when I was younger; darn you to heck! It's your fault I read books or fanfiction instead of doing schoolwork! Ah, who am I kidding. I love reading), which includes books, manga, and fanfiction of several different universes (Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman (which is mostly on Stardust, a book and movie I absolutely adore), a little Anne McCaffrey (Pern); for manga, there is mostly Full Metal Alchemist (go Ed x Winry!), and maybe some other random stuff). I will be honest, I am very picky about what I read; especially if something is filled with grammatical errors. I'm not saying I have the best grammar, but if it does not flow well, I won't read it. No offense intended. I just don't like trying to stumble through something that doesn't flow. I prefer to (pardon the horrible imagery; I do try ever so hard to make it work) sail smoothly through a story, and not get hung up on shoals or rocks of barbaric language usage or grammatical errors. Everyone agrees; smooth sailing is better. Rough sailing has a tendency to make people sick, and it's the same way for me and writing (End bad imagery). But I love a good story, especially romantic ones; even though I am male, I do appreciate a well-written romance story, but only occasionally fluff; I have a limit to my fluff intake. I like full-bodied romance (and I do NOT mean that in any kind of dirty connotation. Get your mind out of the gutter, you sickos), as I am somewhat of an idealistic romantic on the inside. But I still like action, as I am a boy, and boys do like fights and violence and stuff like that. It's just part of who we are, really.
And now is the time where I realize that I have been verbally wandering for several sentences, and I cut myself off. I apologize to all of you for having to wade through that. I will attempt to stem these kinds of things in the future. Don't bet on it, though.
